All licensees of the George R. Brown Convention Center need to provide an insurance certificate well in advance of their event. A due date for submission is stated in each contract, but we recommend strongly that you present the following information regarding the levels and types of coverage required to your insurance representative as soon as possible:
- Commercial General Liability insurance against claims for contractual liability, bodily injury or death, and personal and advertising injury occurring in or upon or resulting from the facility, affording immediate protection to the limits of not less than $500,000 per occurrence with a $1,000,000 aggregate.
- Automobile Liability insurance is required if the licensed premises includes one or more exhibit halls. Coverage must include owned, hired and non-owned vehicles with a combined single limit of $1,000,000; provided, however, that licensees who do not own vehicles need only carry hired and non-owned automobile liability insurance.
- Workers’ Compensation in the statutory amount.
- Employer’s Liability with limits of no less than $500,000 bodily injury for each accident and disease limits of $500,000 per employee, $1,000,000 per policy.
Houston First Corporation, the City of Houston, Texas A&M University, Texas Engineering Experiment Station, the Turbomachinery Laboratory, Hilton Americas Hotel and the Hyatt Regency Houston are to be named as additional insured on all policies, except Workers’ Compensation and Employer’s Liability.
All policies must contain an endorsement waiving any claim or right of subrogation against Houston First Corporation, the City of Houston, Texas A&M University, Texas Engineering Experiment Station, the Turbomachinery Laboratory, Hilton Americas Hotel and the Hyatt Regency Houston.
The issuer of any policy shall have an A.M. Best rating of at least A– with a financial size category of Class VI or better.

A certificate of coverage showing proof of liability insurance must be forwarded to the Turbomachinery Laboratory by July 28, 2016. Failure to comply will prohibit Exhibitor from participating in the event.

If your company plans to use a decorator other than the official general service contractor of TPS, Freeman Company, you must notify us and show proof of general liability insurance on the third party vendor, in addition to your exhibiting company.
