Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (21 March, 2022): The Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB), with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Economic Planning unit, introduced a 3R (Reset, Restart,Responsible) recovery program to bolster a return of business events in Malaysia.
The Turbomachinery Laboratory-hosted Asia Turbomachinery and Pump Symposia (ATPS) on 23-26, May 2022 at the Kuala Lumpur Conference Center is the grateful, first recipient of support under the new program.
MyCEB will help reduce travel costs for delegates when borders open on 1 April 2022, as well as provide full Covid-19 insurance coverage including PCR swab tests on departure for all international delegates attending ATPS. Both of these items are required to travel in and out of Malaysia at this time.
On MyCEB’s Association Day, 23 March 2022, Dr. Alvin Yap accepted an award on behalf of the Turbomachinery Laboratory (TL) and ATPS. A short address about the symposia was presented by Greg Gammon, TL’s Director of Global and Corporate Partnerships at the event.
Gammon expresses appreciation for the initiative, “MyCEB is a valuable partner for our symposium lending both logistical and monetary support. The 3R program is a further illustration of their valuable assistance to ours and other international programs.”
Other items under the 3R plan include bringing at least 10 local industry players to each tradeshow and assisting Malaysian companies in maintaining their membership in international associations such as the Asian Federation of Exhibition and Convention Associations, International Congress and Convention Association, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and The International Association of Professional Congress Organizers, by subsidizing the membership fee.
They have created a MySafe Business Events Planning guide for additional information about the program.
